Kerry Silvia, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Kerry Silvia, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Pediatric NeuropsychologistI am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in pediatric neuropsychology. I completed my graduate training at Suffolk University in Boston, MA with a Clinical Child concentration, earning my Masters in 2007 and my PhD in 2010. As part of my training, I completed a one-year APA-accredited internship in Child Clinical/Pediatric Psychology and then a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology, both at the University of Florida (UF) Health Sciences Center.  After that, my family and I moved to Maryland and I worked as a pediatric neuropsychologist at the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

I started Village Child Assessment in 2015.  I love working in a private practice setting because I’m able to plan specific assessments to meet each child’s individual needs.  I also love being able to meet with each child and family myself throughout the assessment process, including doing all of the testing myself.  This lets me truly get to know them and understand them.  Learning more about the nuances of who a child is, how he or she experiences and approaches different tasks and situations, and his or her unique strengths and challenges helps me to develop recommendations that are the best fit for each child and family specifically.  I am always trying to improve on my assessments and reports to be more helpful to families.  I strive to provide a report that is thorough, specific, and easy to understand, with clear direction for next steps.

I specialize in conducting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of children and adolescents. I have experience working with children and adolescents (from preschool through college age) who have difficulty with attention, learning (including dyslexia and other learning disorders), neurodevelopmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, and/or emotional and behavioral challenges, including depression and anxiety.  I also have extensive experience with children and adolescents with a range of medical or neurological disorders, including traumatic brain injuries (TBI), concussions, epilepsy, cancer, brain tumors, and sickle cell disease.  I am also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology.

I live in Baltimore County with my husband, our three children, and our dog.  I love spending time with my family, running, biking, reading, and spending time outside, especially at the beach.
