Village Child Assessment provides individualized neuropsychological assessments to help families understand their child's cognitive, emotional, behavioral and academic strengths and challenges. By gathering all of this information and collaborating with you and with your child's teachers, we can develop specific recommendations to support your child.
An evaluation is tailored to your child's needs to allow us to develop a detailed understanding of him or her. This includes learning about your child's:
- cognitive abilities (verbal and language skills, problem-solving, attention, memory, executive functioning skills)
- academic functioning and the abilities underlying reading, writing, and math
- emotional and behavioral functioning
- social functioning
Your child's report will explain the results of the assessment in clear, parent-friendly language with visuals to make it easy to see your child's strengths and challenges.
Recommendations are practical and specific to your child. They may include specialized academic interventions, school accommodations and supports, strategies to use at home, resources for parents, therapy, or treatment from other providers, such as occupational therapy or speech and language therapy.
